Qualifications Required

• Associate degree or higher
• Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• One of the following certifications required:
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
• American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)

Key Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within scope of MA certification
• Assists physicians during examinations, including taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists with mobility
• Cleans and stocks exam rooms with necessary supplies
• Takes and returns patient phone calls as directed by the physician
• Provides patient instructions as directed by the physician
• Maintains medical records, including referrals, lab slips, and documentation
• Requisitions supplies to maintain adequate inventory
• Assists with nursing procedures as directed by the physician
• Works as a member of a team and remains flexible
