CMM Programmer | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Interpret complex GD&T specifications to create accurate measurement strategies.
• Select appropriate CMM fixturing, probes, and measurement techniques for various parts.
• Perform routine CMM calibration and preventative maintenance to ensure machine accuracy.
• Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize part inspectability and resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot CMM program errors and measurement discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and GD&T principles.
• Strong understanding of metrology fundamentals and measurement techniques.
• Experience with various CMM types and probe technologies.
• Ability to analyze measurement data, troubleshoot programs, and optimize inspection processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators).
• Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAM software for fixture design or complex surface analysis.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and software.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
