Job Description

Lead Estimator/Sales in Metal Fabrication: (This is NOT a remote position.)

• Prepares metal fabrication quotations.
• Analyze RFQ requirements, technical drawings, associated specifications.
• Self-motivated, financially accountable with top line sales responsibility.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and make independent decisions.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in the same or similar role.
• Extensive metal fabricating print reading skills and the ability to interpret/analyze specifications and tolerances.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Ability to make sales calls and develop new customers.

Job Duties:

• Compute costs of materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements.
• Solicit and collect material costs.
• Identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.
• Establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods.
• Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of estimates and win/loss ratios.
• Review and recommend updates to work center rates and rate tables.
• Review job costing to establish accuracy of estimates and process.
