SCHOOL BASED HOME CARE AIDE (HCA)

Covering school and home time with a pediatric client in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania

Interim Healthcare of NEPA is seeking a School Based Home Care Aide (HCA) to attend school with a student in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. MUST HAVE PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE AND EXPERIENCE WITH DOWNS/AUTISM!

School Based Home Care Aides (HCAs)are members of the interdisciplinary team who provide hands-on personal care, report changes in the client’s condition, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, and provide incidental/instrumental activities of daily living to clients in the home setting as evaluated/delegated and as permitted by the policies and procedures of Interim HealthCare and any other federal, state and local law or regulation.

Job Details for the  School Based Home Care Aide (HCA) :

• Up to $16 per hour, with $50 quarterly bonuses ($200 annually)
• Location: Tunkhannock, PA
• Monday through Friday; Start time 7:45 am, End time 5:00 pm
  • ride transportation to and from school
  • Home Time when school is not in session; half days, holidays, snow days, summertime
• 1:1 employee to patient ratio
• Company benefits:  Health Insurance, Referral Bonuses up to $500, flexible scheduling, weekly pay, direct deposit

Essential Functions of the School Based Home Care Aide (HCA):

• Attend school with a pediatric client who has a special need
• Potential travel with client from home to school and school to home
• Report any incidents to classroom teacher and designated home care supervisor
• Follow care plan and maintain proper documentation according to Pennsylvania State Laws
• Follow HIPAA standards
• Most importantly provide quality care and a safe environment

Minimum Requirements for the School Based Home Care Aide (HCA):

• Must have a Highschool Diploma or GED
• Must have one (1) year experience with Pediatrics
• Must have one (1) year experience working with Special Needs
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment screenings; drug screening, criminal background, fingerprints, child abuse history, physical, etc.
