Job Description

Falzone’s Towing Service, Inc., a leading towing and hauling company in the Northeast, is seeking a dedicated Service Writer to join our Service Department in Wilkes Barre, PA. As a Service Writer, you will play a key role in ensuring our commercial truck and diesel engine customers receive exceptional service by accurately assessing vehicle issues, preparing repair orders, and communicating effectively with both customers and technicians. This full-time position is available for first and/or second shifts. Responsibilities

  • Assess commercial truck and diesel engine issues by listening to customer descriptions, clarifying symptoms, and conducting inspections with mechanics.
  • Review vehicle maintenance records and service schedules to determine necessary repairs and services.
  • Develop accurate estimates by calculating materials, supplies, and labor costs.
  • Prepare detailed repair orders, documenting symptoms, problems, causes, and required repairs or services.
  • Obtain customer approval for repairs and enter information into the service database system.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding estimates, repair status, and expected vehicle return times.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and other team members to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a diesel or automotive environment preferred.
  • Experience in a heavy truck dealership or fleet setting is a strong asset.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quality-conscious with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
