We are conducting a confidential search for a Laboratory Assistant to join a healthcare team in the Seattle area. This role is responsible for collecting and preparing patient specimens, performing phlebotomy procedures, processing lab samples, and ensuring compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform specimen collections including venipuncture, capillary procedures, urine collections, and special collections for pediatric and adult patients.
Conduct urine drug screen collection and Breath Alcohol Testing in accordance with DOT standards.
Process and prepare samples for testing.
Maintain accurate patient demographic and test order data within laboratory and hospital information systems.
Support compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory guidelines.
Provide excellent customer service and communication with patients, staff, and providers.
Train and provide guidance to new staff or students as needed.
Maintain audit trails, resolve order issues, and ensure integrity of laboratory operations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (or GED) required.
Completion of a phlebotomy course and clinical internship OR equivalent on-the-job training with recent lab experience.
MediClear Certification (or equivalent) required.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
National registration with ASCP in Phlebotomy preferred.
